It was a fine day, clear skies, hot but windy.
We had a good turnout. WEX members and their Mums and Dads (and not forgetting Grandads) were all out in force—not bad considering England were playing that afternoon!
We split into 2 groups and had some exercises to do as we walked over the chalk landscape. |

With a focus on butterflies, we produced a checklist of what we saw and how many we saw in which location.
The wind meant that few butterflies settled for long. But it was a great morning. We finished up with a picnic lunch overlooking the iron-age fort. What could be better? |
