REPORT by Derek Lister

On a warm still day Farlington Marsh produced the goods!. 59 species were seen, and although only 12 Wildlife Explorers and leaders attended ,they were rewarded with some good views of birds. Grey Plover were splendid in their summer plumage ,while Dunlin still displayed their  black bellies. Yellow Wagtails were feeding near to the cattle, while Lesser Whitethroat darted amongst the blackberries. A peregrine was seen feeding in the distance on  prey. And a Brent Goose,  the first for the return migration, reminded us that winter was just around the corner
